Beneteau First 27.7
The Beneteau First 27.7 is a little boat with a lot of big boat features. This is a yacht designed for fast and easy sailing for racing or exploring, with a cruising interior that can accommodate four people and has saloon berths for 2 extras.
The cockpit is big and comfortable, for both efficient racing and laid-back cruising and has seating for four people in comfort. This is a very lively yacht that performs extremely well for family cruising, will be very competitive in the twilight or club races and will stand its ground in some of the big regattas.
For those who sail in restricted draft areas then look no further, this has a lifting keel, 7’2” when fully down and only 2’1” when fully retracted. Why settle for a dagger board yacht when you can have a high performance keel boat with the same convenience. It’s a plumb ended little boat with fullish wave riding sections forward, broadening to flat planing sections in the dinghy-like wedge shape aft and a big rig featuring a large roach shaped main sail.
Down below you have the open plan layout main cabin with the warm and inviting traditional Beneteau wood finish. The open plan V-berth forward has two settee berths aft that are the seating for the dining table. Aft of this is the galley to port and the main cabin aft of this. On the starboard side is the ample nav station with the fully enclosed toilet compartment aft of this.
All in all the Beneteau First 27.7 delivers pleasing sailing performance with cruising comfort. The bright and airy interior is practical and functional. This yacht will appeal to the racers at heart as well as those wanting a performance cruiser.
