73' Burger Cockpit Flybridge
Accommodations & Layout DAJA has accommodations for six in three staterooms, plus there is a fourth stateroom for a crew of one or two. All staterooms have ensuite heads and separate Cruisaire air-conditioning systems with SMX controls (6 out of 8 compressors replaced in 2003, 04). DAJA is a comfortable and secure yacht, which can be operated by a couple or with the assistance of crew. The flush deck wide body design and resulting interior comfort is a tribute to both the current owners and the builder. The woodwork aboard DAJA is naturally finished honey toned ash, complemented by silk empire draperies, beige upholstery in the salon with mahogany furniture, tufted paisley upholstery on the dinette banquette, and tufted navy ultra-leather upholstery on the pilot-house chair and banquette. The salon furniture consists of dual matching sofas, coffee and lamp tables; a pair of beige paisley reclining chairs, a single upholstered chair and mahogany drum table (lamp reserved). Forward to port in salon is a built-in mahogany writing desk to port and an expandable (to six) round mahogany dining table is opposite to starboard. All furniture was replaced in 2002-03 including all new Fabrica carpeting with Soundown underlayment on both decks. Across the forward bulkhead to port is an ash buffet containing a dry bar and extensive audio system. Above the buffet is a Pioneer Elite 50" HDTV/DVD (installed 2003) plasma flat-screen for spectacular viewing entertainment. To starboard is the stairwell down to the Master and Guest Staterooms. There are 3 separate Cruisaire air-conditioners totaling 48,000 btu serving the 23' long salon.
PILOTHOUSE with port and starboard sliding doors for access to the side decks and boarding gates. The pilothouse has a navy blue tufted ultra-leather (upholstered 2004) U-shaped banquette with 7 drawers under and a starburst inlayed wood table. There is also a matching centerline navy blue tufted (upholstered 2004) helm chair, ash chartable with 3 full chart drawers and expansive well organized instrument console. To starboard of the banquette seat is the passageway to the galley and salon, outboard further to starboard is the stairway to the flybridge. Main Salon and Dining Aft of the pilothouse and galley on the main deck is the full beam
MAIN SALON. To starboard, directly aft of the stairway to the owners and guests staterooms is a round mahogany dining table with six high back upholstered chairs (all new 2003). The table is normally set for four, however with the insertion of the 22' leaf the dining table comfortably seats six. Opposite to port, built into the forward salon bulkhead is an ash buffet housing an extensive entertainment center. Audio equipment includes a B&W subwoofer, Soundcraft ceiling speakers throughout the yacht, Rotel amplifier, Sony digital control center, Sony DVD player (new 2003), RCA HDTV digital receiver (new 2003), Sony 5 disc CD player and a Pioneer Elite 50 plasma HDTV flat screen (new 2003). These components are integrated into a home theater center remotely activated by a Philips Pronto controller (new 2003). The aft portion of the main salon is devoted to comfort and relaxation. To port and starboard are matching sofas upholstered in a beige fabric and complemented by twin mahogany cocktail tables. Twin reclining chairs upholstered in a beige paisley pattern are all the way aft with matching corner mahogany lamp tables. A single upholstered chair with mahogany drum cabinet completes the conversation group, which can seat nine. The headliners throughout DAJA were replaced in 1998 with a soft white vinyl. The lighting and surround sound speaker system were updated as well. Cockpit Centered on the aft salon bulkhead is the glass and aluminum sliding door to the COCKPIT. The teak decked cockpit has port and starboard aft facing cushioned benches with storage under. On centerline of the aft deck is a Ideal electric mooring windlass (overhauled 2004) with lazarette access hatches to the steering gear, trim tabs, spare props, and battery banks. The transom door opens to a full swim platform with ladder and custom fender rollers for securing the tender. Directly behind the steps from the salon is the emergency escape hatch from the master stateroom.
Galley The GALLEY is located on the port main deck, just aft of the pilothouse. To starboard is a dinette for four, upholstered in a tufted blue/brown paisley. The countertops and dinette table are off-white Corian with natural ash cabinet doors and drawers, matching the interior woodwork throughout the yacht. Blue Pirelli flooring was installed in the galley in 1999.

Maytag washer and dryer Construction Details DAJA was built in Manitowoc, Wisconsin by Burger's legendary craftsmen as 'Fantasy V'. One of the last Jack Hargrave's designs to be built by Burger. DAJA offers all aluminum construction with athwart ship framing, four watertight bulkheads, integral baffled tankage, isolated through hull valves, and piping and electrical systems that are among the best found. The full plating aboard DAJA is aluminum alloy, ranging inch thickness to critical areas of the bottom to 3/8 inch to 5/16 inch on hull sides to inch in the yachts superstructure. Full-length spray rails and rub rails are welded aluminum, while cap rails and handrails are traditional varnished teak. The interior joiner work on DAJA is light ash with natural varnished finish, creating a bright, welcome atmosphere throughout.
