Formula 233
This is one of the original John Haines inspired Formula 233's a vessel much revered in boating and fishing circles. The vessel was in fact part of the inspiration for the much sought after Edencraft and remains available to this day in basically it's original format. Oddly enough you almost never see these for sale and we have "lucked in" for two of them over the last couple of months. The original concept was drawn up for inboard motors and the owner of this vessel has stuck with that. It started out with a pair of small fours and when they died and went to heaven the transom was refurbished and set up for a single motor ( the owner is a fibreglasser) The single 260 HP Mercruiser V8 fitted around 1990 was completely rebuilt in 2005 and refitted with a brand new Alpha 1 leg. At that time the owner (unfortunately or fortunately depending on which way you look at it) found himself with a new job, no time on his hands and consequently the rig has only clocked up 50 hours on the new mechanical setup. Thus his decision to sell the vessel. Anyone who knows the Formula marque knows that they are over 23' long and 2.4 metres wide with a massive 24 degree deadrise, little wonder owners have no hesitation in taking them out in all conditions and going wherever, in search of fish. Speaking of fish, this 233 has a live bait tank, underfloor kill tank, outriggers, light weight game chair, berley pot, miltiple rod racks and holders around the boat and a rocket launcher on a targa. Twin batteries fire up the Humminbird GPS/sounder, VHF radio, CD radio player and the deck lights. The vessel also sports a nice foldaway table, padded coamings, a decent sized V berth in the nose, all the safety gear (EPIRB too but she's out of date) and canopy. The 233 rides on a registered Boeing drive on drive off trailer with an electric winch, a spare and good tyres. Not too many of these around preowned as I said above and new replacement is exxy, so if you would like to venture out in one of the industries legends
